Today we’re going to present you our Slide Arming Safety Pin. Why do you need it?
First of all, let’s tell what means one door to be armed?
When one door or side is armed this means that it’s set to automatic mode so that emergency evacuation slides will deploy when the door is opened. So, the function of the safety pin is to protect the door to disarm immediately.
In most cases, air carriers have followed the practice of requiring the passenger loading door to be armed as soon as the jetway or stairs were pulled back. Also, air carriers have armed all the doors before movement on the surface begins. Recent changes to the regulations have made these practices mandatory.
So, that’s why you need the safety pin to prevent of an inadvertent slide arming.

In many aircrafts, once the door is disarmed, a safety pin with a red tag is inserted into the lever mechanism. This locks the lever and prevents unintentional arming of the door.
