The Manual Release Tool (MRT) – PN: 995000, is a required part of the emergency equipment. It is stowed in the jump seat located at the forward and aft area in the cabin.
It’s used to manually open the emergency oxygen container doors of the Passenger Service Unit (PSU). It’s required in case the door for the oxygen masks doesn’t open automatically when there is an emergency situation. Usually, the MRT is put under each jump seat in the cabin.
