How many Manual Mask Release tools you should have per flight?

Do you know that at the Airbus aircraft there are three different types of oxygen systems. They are: in the cockpit, in the cabin and a portable one.  This system delivers the necessary oxygen for everybody on board in a case of emergency situation or depressurization.

The tool Manual Mask Release (MRT/ PN: 995000), is an important piece of the emergency equipment. It is stowed in the jump seat. Usually, it’s located at the forward and aft area in the cabin.

The tool Manual Mask release allows the crew to deploy the oxygen masks if the pneumatic door latch release fails. It’s also used to manually open the emergency oxygen container doors of the Passenger Service Unit (PSU).

The emergency oxygen containers are installed as follows:

  • Above the passenger seats
  • In the lavatories
  • At the cabin attendant stations
  • In the galley working areas

In WAS we offer Manual Mask Release tools which you could order here.
