Why do you need Cover for Static Probe?
The main reason is that an eventual obstruction will bring to wrong calculation of data parameters from its measurements. For example, debris in the probe will make airspeed and Mach number to “play”.
Even such tiny particles of sand, dirt, dust or insect may play a significant role.
How to explain this?
If such debris fall into the hole where the Cover for Static Probe should be placed, this will make a bad favor to the engineers or pilots. They would not be able to measure the exact pressure.
